Lotemax

Ophthalmic suspension drops. Corticosteroid. Anti-inflammatory.

Indicated for the treatment of postoperative inflammation in ocular surgery and for the treatment of inflammatory processes of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, cornea, and anterior segment of the eyeball. It is also effective for allergic conjunctivitis, rosacea acne, superficial punctate keratitis, herpes zoster, iritis, cyclitis, and selective infectious conjunctivitis that respond to steroids. Provides excellent resolution of moderate to severe inflammation, including cell and flare. It is a steroid that acts directly at the specific site and undergoes rapid metabolism in a single pass, with no propensity for increased intraocular pressure (short-term and long-term). It does not induce cataract formation and is ideal for patients highly responsive to other corticosteroids. It is also indicated for postoperative inflammation in both the posterior and anterior segments, including cataract surgery, refractive surgery, glaucoma filtering surgery, vitrectomy, strabismus surgery, and corneal transplantation.
