Erythromycin

Ophthalmic antibiotic drops. Prophylaxis of neonatal conjunctivitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.

Treatment of superficial ocular infections of the conjunctiva or cornea caused by susceptible organisms. Prophylaxis of neonatal ophthalmia caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae or C. trachomatis. The effectiveness of erythromycin in preventing ophthalmia caused by penicillinase-producing N. gonorrhoeae in children born to mothers with clinically apparent gonorrhea has not been established. Concurrent parenteral treatment with penicillin G is indicated. Treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, and keratitis, as well as infections caused by Chlamydia. Treatment of blepharitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, meibomitis, and trachoma.

Composition: Each 100ml of reconstituted solution contains: Erythromycin (as Erythromycin Lactobionate) 1g.
