Glycosaminoglycan (GAG), which, as a mucopolysaccharide, remains in the eye for a longer period (8 to 12 hours) compared to synthetic polymers in aqueous vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>It exhibits a non-Newtonian pseudoplastic behavior, benefiting the eye at rest (increases its volume, separating the cornea from the eyelid) and facilitating the mechanical activity of blinking (forms a thin layer during mechanical activity).<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, it penetrates deeper due to its hydro-liposoluble nature, crossing multiple layers in the cornea. It has excellent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antioxidant effects due to its intrinsic properties.
